RED HEART INSPIRATION :

I am inspired by red heart quotes and with images like this :

And in support of Red Heart made in USA fiber yarns, this spot will feature the use of such yarns but not to the exclusion of all others. I am very moved by sayings and things to uplift, move and soothe the mind and soul. It's my pleasure to share this with you.

VALENTINE HAT by Red Heart is my FRUITTI TUTTI HAT. This is a hat I made from Red Heart Coats and Clark collection.

My version I call Fruitti Tutti because of the cherry color and other rich bright colors reminding me of fruits. :

LGBT SPIDER-WEB HAT :

I did this hat to rep and big up the LGBT community. This hat's design is done with a web pattern. It is from an idea I had to extend the pattern design from a Vanna White top I had done, to create this effect that you can see of spiderweb or cobweb. I simply amused myself getting this done and it's an original by yours truly :). This hat's color combo is in respect for the LGBT peeps, "they my peeps" too. Much love. Peace love and harmony. One Love. Make love, not war. This is for U! :

TOPPY TOPPER HAT. : Here is a Topper Hat from Lionbrand in an orange carrot color that I thought looked really cute to make :

Below is my version of it in a light gray and beige color blend :

It is also done in a light gray and pumpkin colored blend. The pic in unrotated so I will post that version later. Hope you like it.

BOHEMIAN CARDIGAN - done! Finally! Yay! Here is my version of the Bohemian cardigan shown by model in the post below. I finally got it done. I am showing the first stage of starting to get it done and the finished project. Hope you like. :

I had so much fun doing this project. I can't wait to showcase my next feature project. This couture cardigan/jacket/coat was in a book from my local library. You do get some fun stuff to do from there.

THE BEGINNING : I learnt to crotchet from my cousin Pat. She learnt from our grandmother who was such a consummate crotcheter. my grandmother was an expert at crotcheting, or so I felt (pt). God rest her soul all these years since her pasting. In her memory I will always crotchet and take pride in it.

My granny made me beautiful crotchet dresses and skirts. She crocheted so well. My granny was quick with the stiches forming and she had the ability to work her craft without looking too much at her workmanship while doing it. I will always remember my granny for the beautiful person she was and for her beautiful crotchet work of art.

I was about, maybe seven or eight years old when I was taught to crotchet. I learnt to knit in my pre teen years, about ten, eleven years old. I learnt to knit with classmates of mine from elementary episcopal school. Some of my classmates and I would utilize our free time constructively by knitting, :) :) :) but, also loved to write the words to songs and sing them. Those songs were mostly love songs :).

Well thats all for now. Welcome to my blog on crotchet.
